The "F" Series Backhoe Loaders

from: Who is the author

Leveraging the more than 75 years of experience of superior Caterpillar® craftmanship, Cat® backhoe loaders are agile machines designed to complete a number of jobs, including digging, trenching, backfilling and more. Incorporating the company's industry-leading technological innovation, the machines are extremely durable and boast a reliability that is second-to-none.

Empire offers an extensive assortment of F-Series Center-Pivot Cat backhoes, meaning there is certainly a machine that is perfect for you and your needs.

With a powerful 87 hp engine carrying 24,251 lbs. of solid machine, the 416F is one of our smallest backhoe. But it’s certainly not a machine to be trifled with. With a dig depth of 14.3 ft. and a loader capacity of a cubic yard, the 416F is built for performance, power and fuel efficiency.

The backhoe’s hydraulic load-sensing system matches power to demand, delivering superior force when digging and stronger lift when loading. The best part? The spacious and comfortable operator station ensures comfort no matter how long you’re on the job.

Engineered for optimal performance and durability — and powered by 93 hp — the 420F/420F IT was built to increase your reach, dump height, breakout force and pushing power. This means you are able to get the job done quickly and thoroughly. The backhoe’s powerful hydraulic system delivers improved power management and quieter operation — a recipe for growing your bottom line.

In need of more power and greater dig depth? The 430F/430F IT backhoe is a fantastic option with a 107 hp engine and 15.41 ft. dig depth. This Cat is an older, more mature brother of its predecessors. With the ability to travel at speeds up to 25 mph, the 430F/430F IT empowers operators to get from one jobsite to another relatively quickly, improving their productivity along the way.

The versatility of this backhoe cannot be ignored, as it can navigate the toughest jobsites with ease.

Weighing in at 27,115 lbs., the 450F backhoe loader is our largest and strongest machine. Hauled by an impressive 127 hp and boasting a 17.2 ft. dig depth, the 450F is sure to power through the most complex and challenging jobsites. With five gears, the backhoe is capable of moving from one jobsite to another at 25 mph, making it ideal for time-sensitive projects.

The 450F gives you the extra strength and endurance necessary to conquer the most difficult of jobs.
